● Frequently asked questions about custom fiberglass part manufacturing
Do you manufacture custom fiberglass parts for short production runs, or only large volumes?
We manufacture everything from one-off prototypes and short production runs to continuous production batches. There are no minimum quantities forcing you to order more than you need.
For projects in the development or validation phase, we manufacture the test part, make the necessary adjustments, and scale production when the project requires it.
What is the difference between RTM, spray-up, and hand lay-up? How do I know which one I need?
They are three different technologies for different types of projects.
- RTM injection — Resin Transfer Molding — produces high-precision technical parts with both molded sides finished. It is ideal for automotive, railway, or telecommunications components where finish and tolerances are critical.
- Spray-up makes it possible to manufacture large-format parts quickly and at an optimized cost, commonly used in marine and architectural applications.
- Hand lay-up provides maximum flexibility for complex shapes and unique projects.
Our technical team analyzes your project and recommends the most suitable technology. You don’t need to know about composites to work with us.
Can you manufacture the molds, or do I need to provide them myself?
We design and manufacture our own molds in Valencia.
This is one of our main differentiators compared to other fiberglass part manufacturers in Spain: we do not depend on third parties for this critical stage of the process.
If you already have an existing mold, we can also work with it. If you are starting from scratch, we develop the CAD model, manufacture the mold, and produce the part in the same facility.
What materials do you use to manufacture composite parts?
Mainly glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP), which offers an exceptional cost-performance ratio for most industrial applications.
The choice of material depends on the performance required by the part; our technical team will advise you with no obligation.
What is the usual delivery time for a custom fiberglass part?
It depends on the project, mainly on whether an existing mold is available or a new one needs to be manufactured.
For parts made using an existing mold, lead times are short and we confirm them in the quote.
For projects requiring the development of a new mold, the lead time includes the CAD design phase, mold manufacturing, and production of the first series. We detail this precisely before you confirm the order.
Do you provide technical documentation with each project?
Yes, we provide the technical data sheet for the material used, manufacturing process specifications, and any additional documentation required by the project.
For example: declarations of conformity, dimensional control reports, or material certificates.
This is especially important for projects in regulated sectors such as railway, healthcare, or renewable energy, where document traceability is a customer requirement or a requirement of the applicable regulations.
